Details of the Role

Key responsibilities

Algorithm and Analysis Tool maintenance

• Developing and maintaining the following knowledge:
  • Thorough understanding of the Formulate product and how it can be configured and used.
  • Detailed understanding of how each of the Formulate ‘master’ models works.
  • Good working knowledge of public sector care and support services, including education, health and social care
• Supporting with the development and maintenance of Formulate configuration templates within Excel, which includes the customer - benchmarking programme.
• Undertaking testing of Formulate ‘master’ models to ensure the algorithms are working as expected based on the product specifications.
• Providing support with the development and maintenance of internal and external documentation for the Formulate tools.
• Supporting with the creation and maintenance of the coded assessment forms which customers use to record data in the standardised format required by the Formulate algorithms.
• Supporting with the creation and maintenance of analysis templates and dashboards for customer analysis.
• Sharing knowledge, insight, best practice, and ideas with colleagues to inform future product development.

Cross-team Working

• Working with the Delivery Team to:
  • Support with the development of specified weighting and undertaking bespoke Excel formula changes to the Formulate models to meet customers requirements.
  • Provide configured Formulate model files to the Delivery team in the appropriate format required for customers.
  • Responding to relevant queries and requests from Formulate customers.

Analysis

• Supporting with the collection of customer data as required.
• Undertaking analysis of customer data and providing clear recommendations - including:
  • Cleansing and amending data as required to reflect current provision appropriately within Formulate models.
  • Adding comments to explain variance where relevant - to support the Delivery team’s work.
  • Detailing common themes and/or the causes of differences in customer data - identifying potential weighting changes which may be needed in customer algorithms.
  • Once all cases in a sample are reviewed, checking and amending relevant weightings in the customer algorithm to improve the correlation between estimated budgets and standardised actual costs.
  • Utilising analysis templates to produce the appropriate analysis for each Formulate product, including the relevant Excel dashboard, graphs, and descriptive statistics.
  • Providing a summary of the main recommendations from the analysis - supporting with customer report creation where required.
• Providing second or third line support for customer and internal queries relating to Formulate - including extracting cases from the web service database and investigating queries where relevant.

Security Standards & Data Protection

• Following internal information security procedures and identifying potential omissions through the appropriate channels.
• Raising information security incident reports following the company’s incident reporting process.

Key Skills, Experience & Behaviours

• High level of skill when using Microsoft Excel - including formula writing and pivot tables.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strongly numerate and literate, with the ability to produce high quality documentation.
• Good problem-solving skills - able to solve problems creatively, efficiently and completely.
• Good data analysis and advisory skills with a strong eye for detail.
• Good understanding of statistical analysis concepts, able to apply them to data appropriately.
• Good active listening, communication and presentation skills and able to articulate ideas clearly, confidently and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive and highly organised, with a demonstrable ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
• A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care (internal and external).
• Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an enthusiastic, flexible and motivational nature and an overall passion for excellence.
• Ideally a background within the public sector care and support services (social care, special educational needs or NHS) and awareness of current national policies.

Interview Process

• First stage interview via MS Teams with Head of Product and Transformation & HR Manager (approx. 30 mins).
• Second stage interview via MS Teams with Senior Data Analyst & Product Owner - to include task, test or activity, and further interview questions (approx. 1 hour).
